Samsung has extended the deadline for updates on its phones
Samsung has extended the deadline for updates on its phones. Samsung phones will be able to get the new Android for four years. And they will also be receiving security updates (updates to improve security) for five years.
It means coming out of a new phone that runs Android 12; will be able to get Android 13, Android 14, Android 15, and Android 16; and after that last Android, they will continue to get a security patch for one year. Originally it was the last to get updates for the new Android system is three years.
These changes are for all Galaxy S21 phones, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S21 FE. So it seems this change is for last year’s Flagship phones and onwards. Still in other brands Samsung has not said anything, but it will do well if it keeps up-to-date updates on other brands of its phones to low-end phones.
IPhone phones: are the phones that get updates of the new system for many years than Androids phones. Example in iOS 15 – can be found in iPhone 6S phones, which are phones that came out in 2015 the same as 7 years ago.
